SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: INTRODUCTION
These Conditions set out the rights and obligations of the Remover (“we”, “us” or “our”) and the Customer (“you” or “your”).
These Terms and Conditions can only be changed with the prior written agreement of both parties.
We do not provide insurance cover for your goods. You should consider arranging separate insurance. Your attention is drawn to Clause 9, which sets out our liability.
2. QUOTATION
2.1 Our quotation excludes VAT and does not include customs duties, inspections, or statutory fees unless stated. These are payable by you.
2.2 We may amend the quotation due to:
- Work not completed within 3 months
- Currency, tax, or freight cost changes
- Access above ground/first floor
- Additional services requested
- Work outside 8:00am–6:00pm
- Extra goods not originally quoted
- Access issues
- Parking or external charges
- Delays outside our control
2.3 A quotation is not a contract until confirmed in writing.
3. ADDITIONAL WORK
3.1 Not included unless agreed:
- Furniture dismantling/assembly
- Disconnecting appliances
- Removing fitted flooring
- Unsafe item handling
4. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Declare goods value in writing
- Obtain permits and documentation
- Be present during collection/delivery
- Prepare appliances
- Prevent unauthorised removal
- Protect unattended goods
- Empty fridges/freezers
Provide contact details throughout the process. We are not liable if these responsibilities are not met.
5. OWNERSHIP OF GOODS
You confirm ownership or authority over goods and agree to indemnify us against related claims.
6. EXCLUDED GOODS
- Hazardous or illegal items
- Valuables (cash, jewellery, etc.)
- Perishable goods
- Animals
- Licensed/restricted items
If submitted, we accept no liability and reserve the right to dispose of them. You are responsible for all associated costs.
7. CANCELLATIONS
- 7+ days: No charge
- 3–7 days: Up to 50%
- Under 3 days: Full charge
8. PAYMENT
- Payment required in advance
- No withholding of payment
- Interest may apply on late payments
9. LIABILITY
Liability is limited to declared value or £25,000 (whichever is lower), or £50 per item if undeclared.
No “new for old” replacement. Repairs only where applicable.
10. EXCLUDED RISKS
- Vehicle transport (unless specified)
- Mechanical faults
- Items packed by you
- Wear and tear
- Perishable goods
- Animals
- Consequential loss
11. DELAYS
All timings are estimates unless agreed in writing. Additional storage or costs may apply.
12. CLAIMS
Claims must be made within 7 days of delivery or collection.
13. LIEN
We may retain goods until all charges are paid. Storage fees will continue to apply.
14. SUBCONTRACTING
We may subcontract services while maintaining these Terms.
15. STORAGE CHARGES
Charges may change with 3 months’ written notice.
16. LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
17. WHOLE AGREEMENT
These Terms and the quotation form the entire agreement.
18. TERMINATION
- We may terminate with 3 months’ notice
- You must give 10 working days’ notice for storage termination
- Charges apply until goods are collected
